When someone is sexually attracted to someone thirty or more years older than them, it is called geronsexuality. It derives from the word for the study of crotchety old men, gerontology. In most cases it involves a women who is attracted to an older man, but can be the reverse as well.
Let’s do some math for a moment. Geronsexuality is when the difference in age is 30 years or more. If a young girl was in high school, say 15 years old, and falls for her 45-year-old gym teacher, this would be considered geronsexuality. If she has sex with him consensually, it’s called statutory rape. But for our purposes and description, we’ll say that she only lusts after the man and he does not act on it in return.
Younger men are geronsexuals if they seek out older cougars to smash for an easy lay. These men are naïve and horny and lay in the range of 20-29 years old. The leopard-print wearing women with pounds of hairspray and huge earrings would be on the tail end of cougar age, at 50-59. Believe me, boys, these ladies exist. And they may know a thing or two. If you can get past the spaghetti wrinkles and bat wing underarms, you may enjoy dabbling in some geronsexual activities.
Geronsexuality strikes approximately 1 in 140 men under 21 and 1 in 88 women under 19. It can be seen as a phase, but still may happen to older grave-robber types. It must be noted that those with true geronsexuality are actually sexually aroused by the older person, and not just their wealth or power.
