The erotic media was so very quick to take advantage of new technology, basically the web and the proliferation of content on line. It seems the guy and girl in porn-and basically the girls are most sought after as most porn is viewed by hetero guys-are going to, if they haven’t already, have to take their show-on-the-road. Not fucking in public but having to dance now at clubs for an exclusive amount of time and money, having to amp-up their live autograph signing experiences, having to sell pictures and exclusive content on their websites, in a last vestige, beat-um or join-um kind of approach.
The future of the modern-day porn star is certainly changing as technology grabs hold and continues to exert its heavy-handed grip.
What happens also with all this technology is that we might have less need for a glut of material, we might have less a want for a cornucopia of stars and might simply take to our new gadgets that can pretty much simulate feelings of tactile stimulation, plug-in and on a site and create our own snippets of visual aid from what is available. As audiences everywhere can pretty much alter the landscape of whatever diversion they are into, why not get into a clean virtual reality space and populate it with the amalgamation of avatars and digital human representations of our own makings, making porn and porn stars obsolete in the world of our fevered more specific imaginations.
It might indeed by a case of the inmates having keys to a crazy kingdom that was just itching to be overthrown, the castle rent asunder and the king and the queen relegated to baring themselves in a village near you some time very soon.
