Erotica

Erotica refers to works of art that deal largely with sexually arousing depictions and descriptions. Erotica is different than porn, in that it is not explicit, although some may view it to be. In other words, the difference between erotica and porn is highly subjective.

Although, odds are that if you’ve got a picture with a woman getting quadruple penetrated, it’s probably smut.

Erotica is usually presented in a more artistic manner than pornography. For example, if you see some erotic photography, the lighting will be specialized and the subject matter tastefully presented. It will often be in black and white, and the genitals are rarely presented or penetrated. Porn, on the other hand is all about color, and dicks in orifices. Personally, I like them both. Even old-time art by the great masters that shows tits and ass gets me horny.

Erotica is also in literature. Again, it is highly subjective to each individual as to whether something is erotica or smut. Either way, if it gets your juices flowing and your heart rate up, I say read it! Sexuality is a part of every person on earth, regardless of what the powers that be will tell you, so embrace it! The fact that up until the last half century, books were banned because they described sex is crazy. By denying something to a person, you only make them want it more.

It’s like alcohol. Here in Western society, you have to wait to drink until you’re at least 18. So what happens? When a kid turns 18 they go crazy, and often binge on alcohol now that they are “free” to drink. But in Europe, young adults can have a glass of wine at dinner. They aren’t denied it – they are responsibly introduced to it. And as a result, there is no huge binging when they turn any age.

I guess the point is that erotica tries to inject “art” into porn, whereas porn just wants to get you off. I like the straightforwardness of porn, myself. Get the Kleenex ready!

1. Larry and his college professor were talking during his Prof’s office hours. Larry asked his Prof about erotica. The Prof responded that erotica is all about sexually arousing material. The Prof asked if Larry would like to borrow some of the Prof’s erotica to see what it is all about. Larry said he already had an extensive collection of erotica. The Prof suggested they exchange their erotica, and Larry agreed. The next morning, outside the Prof’s office was a stack of books, including “Lady Chatterley’s Lover” and a book containing paintings by Edouard-Henri Avril. Larry grabbed them and put them in his backpack, and put a big stack of his favorite Swank magazines down for the Prof.

2. Paul liked taking his lady friends to see erotica in film. His favorite was Atom Egoyan’s movie “Exotica”. That movie, Paul explained to his date, dips its toe in the ocean of sensual erotica, and also the sweet ocean of a hot your stripper’s perfect ass.
