Grease is the Word in Porn Parody

I know, I know, another sex video parody…I’m just as tired of reporting on them as you are of reading about them. It just begs the question “are there no more original ideas in pornodome?” But come on. A GREASE parody??? I’m pulling out my leathers and dippity-do for this shit.

In 1978 I was 11 years old and madly in love with Sandy. Anyone who didn’t feel funny inside when she emerged in those tight leather pants, cigarette clenched between her teeth, and big ol’ 70′s blonde fro was either blind or dead. Grease didn’t necessarily put John Travolta on the map…but it certainly helped his ownership of it.

So here we are in 2010 and director Axel Braun is looking for a few good porn actors…who can also sing and dance. This is the same guy who brought us “This Ain’t Happy Days XXX” and “This Ain’t Star Trek XXX” (yeah…the “This Ain’t” series) so I’m familiar with his level of respectability and attention to detail. And I’m not being facetious when I say that.

Braun says there will be 3 full weeks of rehearsals and everyone will be expected to carry their own while dancing with the “famous Hollywood choreographer.”

I gotta admit that I am a LOT less positive than he is about the abilities of porn performers. I mean no disrespect of course but singing and dancing is not an easy thing, nor something you find in great abundance or required from members of the adult film community. And they plan on having FIVE original songs and dance numbers (by the way, the two-disc release will include a CD soundtrack of all the songs).

I’ve been to more than my share of high school and local theater renditions of the Broadway smash and have always been pretty good at keeping my expectations low…for good reason.

But I don’t want to be ‘that guy.’ After all, I’m a purveyor of porn. A pusher of smut, and over-all free porn fanatic. It’s unwise to be a critic before the fact so I’m going to try not to get too caught up in hype while simultaneously watching the calendar with apprehensive anticipation for its September 2010 release. Nothing would be more fun than singing along while Danny Zuko spreads some pink (ladies).
