The Porn Revolution

I was pleasantly surprised to see that Forbes had recently run a story revolving around the porn industry seeing that most of the content you find in Forbes has to do with business news and financial information rather than sex convention coverage. They usually try to steer away from bringing up the porn industry, even though the whole world knows that porn is a multi-billion dollar industry. Forbes even said it themselves back in the early 2000′s, “the business of smut grosses as much as $14 billion annually,” and has clearly grown to gross more since then!

So, Forbes should actually be running “porn stories” all the time, since it has such a huge impact on business and finance, but they don’t, but that’s a whole different argument.

In this article, the author, Susannah Breslin, interviews one of porn’s greatest alumni at a porn convention. They talk about when porn took off and it all seems to have begun as soon as the internet took off and the years to follow. That was until the “market was flooded with product, piracy ate up the profits and the Feds served pornographers with indictments and a recession swept across the globe,” this now brings us today.

As Breslin walks around the convention she see’s product, product and more product; one of the easiest ways for porn companies to make money. It makes sense, people can always find free porn, but they can’t get free product.

The alumni goes on to explain that the new porn consumer is a different one. They want to be in total control of the porn they watch. It’s safe to say that porn watchers are becoming more greedy as the years go one.

So the question still remains, will the hype of porn ever go away? The answer is no. It will continue to be a dilemma, but it will always be around! Great news for Orgasm.com and me of course. That means I will have a job for the time being! And more importantly, all you freaks will be able to continue watching free porn!
