The porn world mourns today with news of the passing of Juliet Carr / Anderson. No details are available yet about her death, though she was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, an ongoing disorder that causes inflammation of the digestive tract, early on in her life.
Entering the adult film world at age 39 she is often cited as “the original cougar”. She was inducted into the Legends of Erotica Hall of Fame and AVN Hall of Fame in 1996, the XRCO Hall of Fame in 1999, and received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Free Speech Coalition in 2001. In 2007 she received an honorary Doctor of the Arts degree from the Institute for the Advanced Study of Human Sexuality.
Beginning with the 1978 hit “Pretty Peaches” she performed in more than 80 movies over the next 10 years, 123 starring roles throughout her career, and went on to direct 2 titles between 1982 -1984.
She is best known for being the shining star of the original Swedish Erotica series.
