Some smart phone users deny it, but there’s a good chance there are x-rated photos or videos on their phones.

A one in four chance to be exact. That’s what software security giant AVG discovered in a recent survey in which they polled 5,107 smart phone users across 5 countries: U.S, U.K, Brazil, France and Germany.

The results don’t seem surprising until you get further into the report. Although 25% of people don’t mind having dirty images on their phones, they usually stay away from performing sensitive tasks including banking and shopping where personal information is needed.

Only 38% of those surveyed use their phones for online shopping, while 38% use it for banking. Those are paltry numbers considering the proliferation of smart phones in recent years.

Furthermore, 70% of people polled didn’t know about various technologies and services that could erase data remotely if it was lost or stolen. This is an interesting statistic, especially since 25% of smart phone users are packing dirty photos and videos on their phones.
