Several years ago primatologist Pablo Herreros toured around to chimpanzee enclosures within Spain and made quite a remarkable discovery, a female chimp by the name of Gina who was strangely addicted to watch human pornography.

Due to the type of enclosure at the Seville Zoo, workers are forced to help stimulate the chimps physically and mentally. In Gina’s case, a television was brought in behind protective glass and she was given a remote control. To the shock of the staff, Gina was able to sucessfully navigate though the channels with the remote without a problem, but once she found the adult channel, she would stop and watch. Herreros stated:

“The surprise was when they found that within a few days, Gina was not only using the remote control perfectly well, but that she also used to choose the porn channel for entertainment, as many of us would have done. Although a small study estimated that porn films are only watched for about 12 minutes on average, the truth is that human and non-human primates possess an intense sexual life.”

While most primates are more acquired to toys, or even mounds of dirt to keep up their wits, Gina seems to love watching the adult channels much longer then the average human.
