A hospital in China has opened up sex themed rooms in order to help couples who are struggling to conceive children get into the mood and to “encourage pregnancy by inspiring sexual passion in the patients“.

The new rooms at the Songziniao Hospital in Wuhan city, Hubei province, come with a dimmed red light, a round bed with netting over it, pillows in the shape of penises and breasts, sex toys and even a sex swing. The rooms more resemble the stereotypical tacky motel rooms that rent by the hour in some of the more urban areas of North America.

Pornography is available on request, as well as nurse and air hostess uniforms for those wanting to role play.

A night’s stay at the hospital costs 880 Yuan ($140 US), which is a sizeable proportion of the 4,672 Yuan ($750 US) average monthly salary.
