Sex Study Says Same Sex Marriage May Be Healthier For You
A new study released claims that same sex marriage may have some health benefits for those in the lifestyle. The study titled Stress and Mental Health Among Midlife and Older Gay-Identified Men, and published on The American Journal Of Public Health features a number of contributors. It states this as it’s conclusion:
Sexual minority and aging-related stress significantly affected the emotional lives of these men. Personal sense of mastery may help to sustain them as they age. We observed specific mental health benefits of same-sex legal marriage
One author, Allen LeBlanc, a professor of sociology at San Francisco State University says of the study:
“One one level, it’s not surprising,” said study . “We know that heterosexual marriage provides a higher perception of social integration and support. It makes sense that same-sex marriages would carry some of the same benefits.”
The data comes from the 2009 California Health Interview Survey, which includes data from more than 47,000 hetero- and homosexual men and women, ages 18 to 70.
