A Brazilian student has sold her virginity to a Japanese man for $780,000.

Catarina Migliorini caused quite a stir when she started her quest to sell her virginity online via auction. The 20-year old had 15-bids including several Americans and an Indian bidder. However, a Japanese man named Natsu won the auction which has recently closed.

Migliorini was the focus of a documentary called Virgins Wanted which also features a male who auctioned off his virginity. In his case, the highest bidder was only $3,000.

The proceeds of the auction will be going to an organization which will construct modern houses in Migliorini’s home state of Santa Catarina in Brazil.

The physical education student has said to Brazilian publication Folha: ‘I saw this as a business. I have the opportunity to travel, to be part of a movie and get a bonus with it…If you only do it once in your life then you are not a prostitute, just like if you take one amazing photograph it does not automatically make you a photographer.”

Migliorini continued: ‘The auction is just business, I’m a romantic girl at heart and believe in love. But this will make a big difference to my area.”

Migliorini had signed up for the documentary’s production company two years ago when they were in search of a virgin as the subject to film.
