The trend of including real sex in Hollywood movies is continuing with James Franco who looks like he willing by doing his own sex scenes. Franco will be starring and producing ‘Cruising’, where he will have real gay sex on film, Xbiz reports.

‘Cruising’ will be a re-imagining of a film released in 1980 directed by William Friedkin and starring Al Pacino that focuses on a cop infiltrating New York’s gay underworld to try and find a murderer killing homosexual men. Because Franco could not secure the rights to the original film, the new project film will technically not be a remake, but a recreation of the original film’s lost scenes.

Travis Mathews is set to direct the feature. Mathews told IndieWire.com: “He knew he wanted real gay sex in it…his people went looking for a filmmaker who had filmed real gay sex, and I suspect someone who would complement his vision.”

This comes on the heels of Shia Laboeuf announcing that he will be having sex for real in his upcoming movie, The Nymphomaniac, which is set to start shooting September.

James Franco’s Cruising’ will be released sometime in 2013.
