Google Glass Could Change Point-Of-View Pornography Forever
Over the last few months, Google Glass prototypes have been making their way around to tech developers and online community leaders in it’s attempts to build up it’s popularity, exposure and in order to showcase to the public the highly anticipated technological advances the device has, but just as with the invention of new technologies from the past, people within the adult entertainment industry are looking at how Google Glass will be used to provide it’s users with top quality adult content.
The first thing that shines though with the Google Glass device is it’s ability to record video or take pictures without the use of hands while recording the images directly from the wearers Point Of View. It’s small camera and placement on the wearer allow freedoms that were not possible with previous recording devices.
In a recent interview, Lee Roy Myers of WoodRocket.com said,
“If the quality is high and the footage is not too dizzying, it will offer viewers a completely new POV porn viewing experience. We can get shots that we never could before because of the placement and size of the camera. Is it the future of porn? I don’t know. But I am excited to try it and see.”
However, llison Vivas, president of porn site Pink Visual is thinking from a viewers stand point before a production side saying,
“I see Glass taking the porn viewing experience into a place where it’s completely hands-free, and which greatly reduces distractions that might be ‘mood killers,’”
and she’s not the only one as Android App developer MiKandi has already confirmed they are already in an app development stage with the product. MiKandi Co-founder Jennifer McEwen said in a recent interview,
“Google Glass Porn has been making its rounds, and while studios are intrigued, no one seems to be doing anything about it. So I wanted to let you know that we picked up our Glass and, yup, we’re making content for it. As far as I know, we’re one of the few, if not the only, adult companies with the device right now. So far, it’s really fun!”
Pushing the limits of the device even further is Jeff Dillon, CEO of Gamelink, a digital distribution center for adult entertainment. Dillion considers his company ‘The Amazon.com of Pornograhy’ as they call themselves a technology company, not a pornography company. He says,
“I’d love to see a Glass app that can recognize sex toys used in movies then take the user to a place online where they can buy them.”
Ideally for him that place would be his online shop, making the device a glorified in app purchases device, boosting impulse buying while making online shopping easier for the general public.
Whichever direction the industry decides to go with the device, I’m sure we have only just scratched the surface. Just as the invention of the telephone, the camera, the handheld camcorder, the VCR and The Internet have changed the way humans interact with adult entertainment, I am sure this device has the ability to change the industry in ways we have yet to imagine.
