My Life as a CamGirl
This 2-part article series was written exclusively for Orgasm.com by Mitsuko Doll.
I’ve spent the last few years immersed in this fairly new, but rapidly growing niche in porn known as webcamming. If I said I was the type of girl that’d never do something like this, I’d be lying. Growing up, I’ve always been very independent and not fond of working under authority figures. I’ve also always been hypersexual and very curious when it came to adult work. Being less fortunate in my youth gave me the mentality that made me constantly hungry for more. I was one of those kids that always had those crazy, get-rich schemes; making things to sell, babysitting, gambling. So naturally, I began dancing during college. Dancing definitely introduced and gave me the push to continue my ventures in the adult industry.
Eventually, I had enough of the harsh club environment and decided to check out video work and camming. There weren’t too many resources available online on how to be a camgirl but I compiled all the research and notes I could find and really weighed the consequences. Being a college student still, I was definitely worried of the risk that camming could potentially hurt my future career. The fact that there would inevitably be naked images of me on the internet forever was really the biggest deterrent. I ended up deciding that if I’m going to do this, I needed to make it worth the consequences. This couldn’t just be a summer gig, I needed to go all the way. I wasn’t expecting to retire off camming but at least build up a nice goose egg to actually start something that I may like to do in the future, especially considering I’d be unhirable with the adult background.
So I finally took the plunge, headed to FedEx to scan all my documents, and logged on for the first time. I loved it. It was like a strip club minus skin contact. I didn’t mind showing my body. Stripping and just being a sexual girl in general definitely prepared me to enjoy and bask in all the sexual attention. I just remember in the beginning I would sit in my bedroom camming for 10-15 hours straight, being completely obsessed. I found that a lot of guys were just looking for someone to talk to. The rest wanted you to bare it all and do masturbation shows. I wasn’t too fond of them at first considering I was still very young and inexperienced with my own body.
Two years and hundreds of sex toys later, I pretty much refuse to masturbate unless I am on cam. Why waste a perfectly good orgasm when you can share with thousands of people and get paid for it? The way I view camming has definitely changed over the years. Before, it was all about meeting every guy’s individual requests, while now I just enjoy myself. I’ve discovered so much about myself sexually and challenge myself to reach new heights often.
I may put in 3-4 hours a day on cam these days but I am constantly working on my personal camsite Mitsukodoll.com, editing and uploading videos, or just working on promotions. The camming world has become way more competitive so there’s a lot more to it than just showing up and being pretty. It’s really like running your own business and trying to market and sell your main product, yourself. I love being my own boss and am fascinated with seeing results, good or bad, and knowing they’re directly caused by me. It’s a very empowering feeling.
