Brazilian Waxes Make Crab Lice An Endangered Species
Brazilian waxing, the rising grooming trend that became popularized in the 1990s by the television show ‘Sex In The City’ has since become so popular that pubic lice, the crab shaped blood suckers found in body hair, has become an endangered species as less and less of them are able to find places to live.
Studies show that 80% of all college students in the U.S. remove some or all of their body hair. The trend also crosses overseas to Australia where Sydney’s main sexual health clinic hasn’t seen a woman with pubic lice since 2008 and male cases have fallen 80 percent from about 100 a decade ago.
History has shown pubic lice has been treated with topical insecticides for decades in the past, including toxic ones developed before and during World War 2, but with this trend coming into light, it’s shown a new way to fight against one of the worlds easily transferable sexually transmitted infections
