Dave Kingsley of Orgasm News spoke to the Toronto-native about her wildly successful cam career, the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs incident and how she continues to be an inspiration to people everywhere with her courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma

 

Dave Kingsley: Congratulations about your 2013 AVN & XBIZ Award nominations! What do these nominations mean to you?

Taylor Stevens: I cant even begin to explain what this means to me. It really is an honor being nominated. I love what I do I wouldn’t do it if I didn’t love it and I built this by myself from the ground up and to be recognized for your hard work, sacrifice and talent is the most amazing thing in the world. I am really excited!

 

DK: You’ve been one of the most popular cam girls out there. What is the secret of your success?

Taylor: Well thank you for noticing [laughs] I’d say that I’m real my fans meet me at conventions they know I’m the same person on cam as I am off cam. I love what I do I give nothing but the best of me. I care about my fans they are the reason I am where I am today. I’m a really down to earth girl I’m a no bullshit kind of girl. [laughs] I think I appeal to a lot of markets. I’m relatable I’ve been through a lot of stuff in my life and many people can understand and relate. My fans are so supportive and always have my back. I’d say I stay true to me and I actually care about getting to know my fans.

 

DK: Can you tell us about some of the projects you’re working on at the moment?

Taylor: Ohhh some I can tell some I can’t [laughs] I’ve always got several projects going on. Right now taystevens.com is getting bigger and better and there will be tons of surprises for everyone this year. I love surprising people so just stay tuned!

 

DK: Who are the porn stars that you admire? Why?

Taylor: It’s hard to narrow it down really. I admire everyone in this industry the guts and the hard work it takes to maintain a successful career in porn makes everyone admirable. I have so many friends in this industry I love the ones who I have seen work hard and who have a great head on their shoulders.

I really think everyone in the industry who loves what they do commit to it, and make great porn for their fans are all people who I admire. I have so much respect   for everyone in this industry, the ones who make great movies, the ones who care about the product they deliver. That’s how I do my thing and that’s what I love to see in others.

 

DK: Do you have any mentors in the adult entertainment industry? If so, who are they and how have they helped you? 

Taylor: I’ve been on my own in this industry so I built myself up and learned a lot just on my own. But you always learn from others. Always. In a good way or in a bad way you can always learn what to do or what not to do.

 

Tera Patrick who I had the pleasure of meeting this year is amazing. I love her because she reminds me of me [laughs], she’s a strong independent woman who always tries to tell the girls in the industry to make sure they keep their head straight focus and be independent and sexy. I love that about her. No bullshit that’s why I love her.

 

Nikki Benz is another Canadian! She has branched out and done so much with her career its amazing and I’m very proud of her.

 

I have met so many great people who have opened my eyes to so many things. To name them all would take forever. This industry is full of people from various backgrounds with various interests and I think that we can all learn from each other.

 

DK: What’s the craziest sexual experience you have ever been involved in?

Taylor: Ohhh so we are getting personal? [laughs] I make sure that all my sexual experiences have a little bit of crazy in them. That’s what makes it fun! I did have amazing sex in front of a group of people at a foam party in Mexico once! LOVED IT!  I like being watched clearly and that’s what I do on cam!

 

DK: What is a celebrity that you would love to have sex with? Why?

Taylor: Well I mean I don’t necessarily aim for celebrities but I will say I’m bi sexual and I have this amazing crush on Mila Kunis she is so gorgeous down to earth and loveable. I’d definitely like her in my bed. Also, Scarlett Johnanson. She’s so classically beautiful! And she seems so sensual with her gorgeous curves.

 

DK: How has Social Media especially Twitter helped you in your career?

Taylor: It’s an amazing way to market yourself and gain exposure. I am a Twitter queen! [laughs] I am always tweeting about my life my hobbies it’s a great platform to reach a lot of people. I always self marketed myself to where I am now even in the Myspace days. I try to reach as many people as I can and twitter is a great platform for that. My twitter @taystevens is very popular all followers I gained through hard work and networking. Taylor Stevens is a brand not just a name!

 

DK: What has been the importance of branding and marketing yourself in the adult industry?

Taylor: I can’t even begin to explain how important it is to make your name a name that people remember and that you don’t get thrown into a general group of people as in “Pornstars” well ok what makes you a star! YOU make you a star. That’s how I see it. Your personality, your films whatever it is you do, even as a director or producer you are your brand people will know it and respect it. Marketing yourself is one of the things I do best. I have a market that doesn’t just reach the adult industry, but my exposure reaches mainstream.

 

I have and am going through a lot of battles including my past battle with obesity. I was 300lbs and I lost 180lbs in 2006 as well as my current battle with cancer. I have gained so many supporters and fans that I could help and that helped me.

 

Marketing yourself is just about being real and letting people see who you are and if they like you they like you and if they don’t its not something you can control. You MUST STAND OUT!

 

DK: You gained national exposure when you were filmed during one of the games of the Stanley Cup finals last year. Tell us a little about that experience and the result of your exposure.

Taylor: It was an amazing and a crazy time. I was in LA for a photo shoot and a private party for vitamin water. A fan of mine bought me tickets to the game as a gift off my Wishlist. My fans know that I love shoes and such but Moments mean more to me as having cancer made me realize life is super short and I value moments more then things. So, I got the tickets but had no idea what seats they were when I first sat in them first row I was like ‘oh man’ thinking they were behind the Los Angeles Kings bench but then I quickly realized they were behind the New Jersey Devils’ bench! I was still happy. I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada so I LOVE hockey.

 

So in short, the TV cameras caught me behind the bench and they caught Peter Deboer [the coach of the NJ Devils) staring at my breasts [laughs]. It was really a fun and silly time  and I loved it! Everyone was great about it! I was shocked and I had no idea what was happening as there was no Wi-Fi in the building and when I got outside my phone blew up and I was trending on Twitter.

 

The exposure was great, but I was always famous in my own right for what I did prior to that but this was amazing. I did so many interviews I can’t count. The result of my exposure was great. I got to dispel a lot of myths and judgment people had about me. I wasn’t just some big-boobed blonde behind the bench. I knew my sports and I was going through a lot of battles, which actually let people see that there is a real person and a big heart underneath those boobies. Also as a result I was able to auction off the shirts I was wearing to the charities close to my heart: The Obesity Society and the National Lymphoma Society.

 

DK: Do you have any advice any girls that are thinking of becoming cam girls/breaking into the adult entertainment world?

Taylor: Yes. DO NOT DO IT unless you love it only do it for the right reasons. Be respected and respectful and have a great work ethic. Never compromise who you are!

 

DK: You’re a big sports fan! Who do you cheer for? What are your thoughts on the NHL Labor Dispute?

Taylor: I love sports and I’m a sports girl! I grew up with three brothers so it’s in my blood. My dad used to take me to the horse races when I was a kid. I bet on all sports [and] I generally cheer for the team that’s on my ticket to win [laughs] But I am a huge New England Patriots fan. My fans know that and of course being from Canada a Toronto Maple Leaf fan.

 

I think the lockout is a disgrace to hockey and the fans are getting angrier that they are making hockey irrelevant. I think greed and ego has taken over the love of the game. All jokes aside, its just sad, really sad that a sport I called my own, grew up with, was proud of, is at the state it is today.

 

DK: What would your ultimate sexual fantasy be? Can you tell us about it?

Taylor: [laughs] I think I have many sexual fantasies and I fulfill them. I like rough sex: just slapping my ass, pulling my hair and fucking me hard. I also love women so love being with 2 or 3 women at once. These are things I’ve all done!

 

DK: Can you describe what a perfect date for you would be like?

Taylor: That one is easy: football, chicken wings sex during halftime! Only during half time because once the game starts I’m back to business. In all honesty a perfect date would be a genuine guy who can make me laugh and who isn’t fake and who isn’t arrogant. But I’m a tomboy in a girl’s body! I mean I still am a girly girl but I can just kick it with a guy and that’s what I love to do. I don’t need you to get all fancy for me: just be you!

 

DK: What tips can you give to men out there when orally satisfying their woman?

Taylor: Pay ATTENTION! If you aren’t doing it right she will show you. Watch where she guides your head and listen to where she moans. Feel her heartbeat get faster: she is giving you signals without speaking. So pay attention. Ladies know if the guy isn’t doing it right she will show him. Each girl has their own spot and each guy should find it!

 

DK: Have your family and friends been supportive of your career?

Taylor: 100% they know I’m staying true to me and they are very supportive. I know my father, if he was still around (he passed away when I was 6) would be very proud of me, because I have stayed true to who I am and have handled myself and my battles in a classy, positive way.

 

DK: What is something people don’t know about you?

Taylor: That’s a hard one since I’m super open with my fans about everything. But some people don’t know that I currently have Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and I’m fighting that amazingly well!
