New Phone App Trades Sex Medical Records Through “Bumping”

MedXCom AppA new smartphone app feature created by MedXCom called MedXSafe is being promoted as a way for potential partners to trade sexually transmitted disease history through bumping phones, which would allow users to safely display that they are free from disease and infection before exposing themselves to any risk.

The app does not trade detailed records, however it does display if the user is STD Free, HIV Negative and if they have received an HPV Vaccination. It also allows users to trade personal information such as an email address, a phone number or even a photograph.

The company website states that patients download the app, then allow their doctor to share the medical update to the phone. No personal information is stored on the phone, and it will log you out after inactivity so there’s no worry of anyone unwanted seeing your results.

Although this idea may seem tacky to most, today’s young tech savvy and sexually promiscuous teens are most likely to use such a tool, allowing safe sex to be promoted easier and forcing users to not lie about their sexual history.
