On Friday, December 7, 2012, adult entertainment newcomer Katie King took her own life. In a statement posted to Twitter on December 10, her Agency East Coast Talents said this:

“It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we must report on the passing of Katie King. Katie took her own life this past weekend. East Coast Talents would like to express our deepest sympathy to her family and friends in this most difficult time.

 

While Katie’s time in adult was brief she left all those she worked with a lifetime of memories. She will always be remembered as one of the most passionate and joyful models we have worked with. Always quick with a smile and quicker to laugh, she loved what she did and it showed.

 

We ask that everyone keep Katie in their hearts and memories. Keep her family and friends in mind as they work this tragedy. Rest in Peace Katie, you will be missed”

Katie’s last tweet came on Dec 7th saying:

When it hits, it hits hard. #Reality

Going though her twitter account and searching for tweets directed at her before the incident, friends of hers knew something was wrong in her personal life, with tweets like:

“I love ya Katie, no clue what happened but you gotta just keep doin you,”

and even tweets inviting the young starlet out for drinks on the town the night of the incident. By early December 8th tweets were already pouring out with sadness over the news.

More details have been very hard to come by.

We hope this tragedy will help bring forward others within the industry suffering from depression and suicidal thoughts in order for them to receive help and support.
