Orgasm News’ Dave Kingsley had a chance to speak with Brandy Aniston, a porn star who can do it all. Brandy talks about her career in porn including her role in the Breaking Bad Parody as well as her tattoos and her many talents that have helped her rise in the industry.

 

Dave Kingsley: What attracted you to the adult industry and what did you do before?

Brandy Aniston: I was a dancer before I got into the industry and so the appeal came from watching a lot of teacher dancers come into the club that I worked at. And, then a lot of the future porn stars would, you know, ask me to get into the business. So it kind of just after a while just seemed like the next step.

 

DK: How did you come up with your stage name?

Brandy: My stage name was actually thought of by Shy Love. So she gave me my stage name.

 

DK: You were recently working on the Breaking Bad parody. How was that experience?

Brandy: That was amazing! That’s probably my favorite role that I’ve got to play so far because that’s my favorite TV show. So it was a really big honor to play the role of Jessie and…be a part of it. [It was] more of a political movie as to do within the porn industry and what’s going on with the porn industry right now. And, them trying to police our sets and make us wear condoms or what-not.

 

So in the movie, without giving too much away, basically it’s got to do with . . . a governor [who] has created an anti-porn mob so it’s illegal to do porn in the movie. So our message to the community is just to basically let us do our porn shoots and not come to our sets and police them and try to make us feel like we’re doing anything wrong.

 

DK: Along with this project, as you were saying this is one of your favorite projects, what other projects have you been working on recently?

Brandy: Recently, I’ve done a lot of shooting with Penthouse and I’ve got a couple things coming up with them. And, my favorite projects that I’ve worked on most recently would probably be . . . We also did the Addams Family last year with the same company that did Breaking Bad. And, then also I [did] the movie Sexy by Wicked Pictures last year which was a dance/burlesque theme type movie. So that was really cool.

 

DK: You’ve obviously worked with many great porn stars but can you tell us any people in the industry that were like mentors to you or you consider mentors that have really helped you out?

Brandy: I would say probably Jessica Drake has been a big mentor to me. I’m trying to think of who else. Yeah, I…like a Tera Patrick because she’s a Thai girl like me. I’m Thai/Armenian so I like the more exotic girls and Tera’s an exotic girl that’s kind of pushed the envelope for other exotic looking girls to make their way in the business.

 

DK: Now that Tera Patrick and Jessica Drake have helped you out are you mentoring some porn stars as well?

Brandy: You know, I try to do my best to help with some of the newer girls that I think have potential to last longer in the industry than . . . Because, there’s a really small pool of people that last over their first six months in porn. It’s very difficult as a young girl to get in the business and really, actually be anything. Because, for me, I got in the business thinking that it was just all going to be handed to me and because, you know, you’re a pretty girl you get the attention and that’s not the truth at all.

 

The truth behind it is it’s like a machine. It’s a big run business that we all have to make our own way and it’s taken me a good four years to make myself come to a point where I’ve been noticed. So it’s definitely a difficult industry to process at first.

 

So for girls, I try to give my best advice but I try not to put too much on the other girls because everybody’s journey is different.

 

DK: Now talking about a subject that’s been affecting the industry for the last couple years has been of course the Internet. What’s some of your thoughts on that?

Brandy: Basically, the Internet is a positive place for us with the sites and stuff. It can also be a very difficult place for porn because of all the Tube sites. Tube sites are really killing our sales on our videos. So porn is kind of bent in an Internet stage direction. Even larger companies that were doing bigger videos before are doing live Internet shows now.

 

You know? So we’ve really seen a change drastically in the past two years on how much more we shoot everything for online. Everything gets turned into a scene that’s going to be put online so the companies can still make revenue from it.

 

DK: How has, for example, Twitter helped you get out there for more roles and connect with your fans?

Brandy: Twitter is a very powerful place and for me, I’ve always just been myself…My Twitter isn’t a place where I like to post sexual pictures or talk sexually or anything like that. And, I think a lot of girls might use it as a different kind of tool than I do.

 

And, for me, I kind of use it as a tool to let people know who I really am and that I’m a real person with feelings and I’m not just a sex object that they see online or in movies. So I’ve gotten to know a lot of my fans very well through Twitter and they’ve known me and they’ve been really amazing at backing me in every decision that I’ve made. Anything they could ever do to help me on Twitter they do. And, I have to say, it’s a really strong, powerful marketing tool when you have the fans behind you on it and you have directors and everyone seeing the volume of people that are attracted to you on Twitter is a major deal.

 

DK: I think fans probably know you quite a bit but is there, for example, any hobbies or talents that you have that some people don’t know out there about you?

Brandy: A lot of my fans do know, if they’ve followed me long enough they know, that I’m a professional dancer. I’ve been a professional tap, jazz and ballet dancer since I was two years old. I also did a lot of acting. And, a lot of my fans don’t know but I was a beauty pageant girl a long time. So I did a lot of beauty pageants, a lot of dance competitions and a lot of small acting parts when I was a kid. So I’ve been at this entertainment thing for a long time. [laughs]

 

DK: That’s really cool. I can even actually call you a triple threat, right? Can you sing as well?

Brandy: You know what? Going back to maybe my past a little, my parents liked me to be in anything that had to do with entertainment. I’m sure this is not exactly the business they meant but as a girl by myself in the world, I knew I couldn’t take on Hollywood by myself. But, I did know that there was another kind of industry that I could get into and use my skills and I kind of just fell into porn like that. It’s not that I’m a crazy sex addict…It’s more that I like to perform and I like the attention. It’s almost like an addiction that you get once you start.

 

DK: Staying on the topic of dancing and acting, how has those components helped you in the adult business?

Brandy: I got the opportunity to choreograph a movie for Wicked Pictures alongside the director Brad Armstrong which was extremely cool for me to have the opportunity to have my name put in as a choreographer and I performing in the movie.

 

I use, obviously, my acting skills and singing skills. These movies these days are really going to be based off of a lot of parody stuff. So when you can sing, dance and act it just gives you that much more of an edge on all of your competitors trying to get the same role as you.

 

So for me it’s been a little bit difficult because I’m a tattooed girl and not, like, seriously tattooed but in this industry it can be quite hard to look past someone’s tattoos unless they’re talented.

 

DK:  And, that’s what I wanted to talk to you about Hollywood. You talked about that and how difficult it is to get in there. Now that you have a rabid fan base, you have a lot of support, would you consider doing some mainstream roles in the near future?

Brandy: I would love that. That’s always something that I wanted to do. I went …to an awesome Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie concert and that was about as cool as mainstream can go. And, for me I would take on acting or something like that. I would love to show people that I’m more than just the sex star that they see. I definitely won’t leave porn to go up to a mainstream career but I would definitely take on a mainstream role.

 

DK: You also touched on your tattoos, can you tell us a little bout about some of those tattoos?

Brandy: Each one has kind of it’s own story. I went to a really, really dark time when I lost of my parents and that was kind of when I thought the easiest way to express how I feel is through tattooing things on my body.

 

Was it a good choice? I’m not sure but I don’t regret any of the tattoos I’ve gotten. The one on my arm, it says must I go through hell to get to heaven. It’s really just my everyday check to look down at and realize that I’ve been through a lot and there’s still a lot more to come but I’m just going to keep pursuing everything that I do. So I can’t let all the setbacks and tragedies that I’ve had happen in my life try to keep me back forever.

 

DK: Thanks for sharing that with us, Brandy. And, now looking at some things like mainstream, what inspires you? Celebrities, or even singers, are out there that really have influenced you in your career?

Brandy: I can’t really say anybody in mainstream’s influenced me because we’re in porn so it’s a little bit more difficult. But, for me, I look up to a lot of the male actors in the world. I still love to watch anything to do with Christopher Walken and Val Kilmer.

 

I mean, music has really influenced me and I’m a big fan of the Doors and Jim Morrison. I like the more free-spirited era so I could say probably more of the ‘60s and ’70′s. That kind of era. Free-spirit. Back then it was like, you know, porn might have been more accepted it feels like because everybody was a little bit more free about themselves.

 

I can’t really say any actor or actress has influenced me in my porn career but I could say more of an era or time period could.

 

DK: Can you describe what a perfect date for you would be like?

Brandy: A perfect mate?

 

DK: A perfect date.

Brandy: Date? [laughs] I don’t even get to go on dates anymore! Let’s see. I love food so definitely have to take me somewhere to eat. You know, I got to say my perfect date now has changed probably from when I was younger. I’m really close with another girl in the industry named Kagney Linn Carter. She’s a good friend of mine and…we’re actually have a group.

 

The four of us we’re getting together and we’re going out to dinner and then we’re going to go on a haunted hay ride. So to me, it’s kind of more about just being a kid and getting away from all the adult business and kind of going back to our childhood and being kids for once.

 

DK: What would your ultimate fantasy be?

Brandy: I got to live out a really cool role as Wednesday Addams because as you can tell I’m into Halloween…So playing Wednesday Addams was really, really cool for me. This year, playing Jessie, that honestly made my year.

 

I think my fantasy role is definitely to play Jessie. I’m not really sure what my next fantasy role would be. I think I’ve gotten to do a lot of what I wanted and then some. So for me, I think the fantasy role now would to be able to start maybe directing my own little scenarios. [laughs]

 

DK: Talking about parodies, it’s been popular the last couple of years in porn. What would be a porn parody that they didn’t make yet that you would like to be part of?

Brandy: Gosh, They’ve touched on everything… I’ve heard rumors of the Wizard of Oz. I’ve heard rumors of all that stuff. And, looking back to be honest, something like the Wizard of Oz or I know a lot people are getting into the Disney style. They’re thinking about doing that. I think a fantasy role, I just watched Snow White and the Huntsman. I think Snow White’s a really fucking cool movie and has a really cool story. So for me, it would probably be something if we had to pick from a Disney character or what-not, I would go for something like Snow White.

 

DK: And, now touching on music and books is there any particular band you’re listening to and any books that you’re reading right now?

Brandy: Right now, I’m not really reading too many books. I’ve just been crazy busy but music-wise, I like a broad variety of music…I’m really into a lot of the orchestra right now. I’ve been going to the Philharmonic….I’m into that and I’m into, you know, mainstream rap, R & B and pop and then I can go back as far as listening to Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli. I like a wide variety of music. [laughs]

 

DK: I suppose you’re being a music fan, do you infuse into porn?

Brandy: For me, I take every scene and every part pretty   seriously. I try to get into the character as much as possible. I like to film the big feature movies because I like to have a character. Whereas if you’re just doing a single scene you’re kind of just thrown in a scenario and then we do the porn thing. But, in a movie you actually get to develop a character. So I like to do the big feature movies and really get to the big scripts and get into the character. That’s really cool for me.
