New Zealand Strip Clubs Finding Success with Female Manager
With the sex industry mainly controlled by men, there are only a few females who succeed in bringing in their brand of leadership.
One of those women is Jacqui Le Prou Samson, who initially followed in her father’s footsteps by entering the adult industry. “From about the age of 10, I watched as my dad trained race horses by day and on weekend nights toured with a group of six girls doing performances at pubs.”
She became more involved when her father’s health declined: “I was quite advanced, I knew everything, or at least I thought I did. I ended up running the shows, setting up the sound system and being the MC…”
Although the sex industry is male-dominated, Samson wanted to bring her woman’s prospective into the world of stripping. She’s been quite successful thus far helping either grow or build several popular strip clubs that dot New Zealand including the Calendar Girls chain of clubs.
Samson told the New Zealand Herald that: “Nudity and striptease is sensual and beautiful, and I thought it was time to bring that back and not have all the smut and sleaze that goes with men controlling young girls.”
However, Samson also knows how to build publicity with controversial events including one earlier this year which pitted several girls on the catwalk for a grand prize of a $10,000 breast implants.
