Google Won’t Show You Porn Images Unless You Ask It To!
Google adjusted it’s SafeSearch filtering settings once again, making it even harder for search queries to return pornographic images. The change sparked an out lash on social news site Reddit causing users to claim Google is censoring the Internet.
One Reddit user by the name of Fake_Cakeday posted, “What is this? communism?! õ_Õ’ BRING BACK THE PORN!”
However, a Google representative stated:
“We are not censoring any adult content, and want to show users exactly what they are looking for — but we aim not to show sexually-explicit results unless a user is specifically searching for them. We use algorithms to select the most relevant results for a given query. If you’re looking for adult content, you can find it without having to change the default setting — you just may need to be more explicit in your query if your search terms are potentially ambiguous. The image search settings now work the same way as in web search”
Google views this as a way to make their image search results fall in line with the already existing settings of Web and Video searches. They say you will just have to be more specific in your searches, which is ironic for a company who’s purpose is to make things simpler to find on the web.
So, are there ways around it without having to work harder for your desired result? Yes. There’s a blog post on Orgasm.com which explains how to make a Google account and turn your Safe Search settings off allowing you to have almost the same search settings as before.
Another option would be to use one of the many other search engines out there, like Bing, Yahoo, and Altavista. A side by side comparison in the Orgasm.com offices showed no need to sign into a profile in order to get easier search results.
Of course, the easiest way to get adult content is to have Orgasm.com bookmarked on your web browser. It’s clearly the best way to get tons of new adult content daily, without the help of search engines or account sign ups.
