Anita Lane English, a 69-year old Reno resident was arrested after allegedly trying to kill her husband because she was offended he was reading a book on unconventional sex.

English’s 69-year old husband picked her up from a Reno casino shortly after 11pm on Sunday. Washoe County Sheriff’s Deputy Armando Avina has stated that English was very intoxicated and began to argue with her husband over the book. Avina has also stated that once the couple returned home, the intoxicated English attempted to shoot her husband with a rifle which malfunctioned. English then retrieved a small hand gun and fired shots at her husband as he escaped down their driveway.

English’s husband was able to report the incident to the police uninjured from a local gas station nearby. Avina said English was cooperative when deputies arrived, although she had trouble standing on her own.
