James talks about doing what you love to do

What is that saying? ‘The purpose of life is to live it, to reach out eagerly and without fear for a newer and richer experience’.

 

And then, ‘Embrace life. Have confidence in yourself. Take action. Bravery is believing in yourself, and that is something that no one can teach you’. I do believe in myself. I believe in what I can do, and what I give to the public and my audience and my fans out there.

 

I believe in what all of us do, and we entertain people. Whether it’s mainstream or adult, we’re entertaining people. For that brief hour or hour and a half, a few hours when you’re watching us. You’re forgetting about the bills that you have to pay.

 

You’re forgetting about your mortgage deadline, you’re forgetting about, “God. I’ve got to get this school deadline, this writing exam done.” That’s why people have always for decades have turned to the movies to escape, right? People come home from work, what do they do? They sit in front of the television set, and they watch a movie, they watch a TV show.

 

Or they’ll sit in front of their computer, and they’ll watch a movie, or they’ll watch one of our ‘triple-X’ films and our parodies, and our features. So they can get away, and they can escape.

 

Now with the apps that you can get on your phone and your tablet and stuff, this is a great thing. In fact, I’m working with a company now to develop a brand new app that’s going to have movies on it.

 

You can watch stuff on your phone and on your tablet, which I think is really convenient because people will have this with them all the time wherever they go. When somebody checks into a hotel, what do they do? They throw their luggage down, they unwind for a little bit, they’ll probably go rent a ‘triple-X’ movie.

 

Adult films is about entertainment

It’s a shame that you’ve got people like Michael Weinstein and the AHF that are trying to regulate what we’re doing, or try to close it down altogether. This is a shame. the public needs to stand up and stop being embarrassed at admitting that they look at pornography and they look at ‘triple-X’ films. It’s not harming anybody. It’s not harming people, what we do.

 

If I thought that this was a harmful thing, I wouldn’t have entered into this industry in the first place. But I love what I’m doing. I get to create brand new characters. I get to do impressions of characters, like when I’m doing the parodies, like playing Bosley, or playing Mr. “C” in Happy Days or playing Curly in the Three Stooges.

 

I’ve just had a fan who just wrote me, and just went on and on about how much he loved me as Curly in the Three Stooges. I mean this guy was like, “Oh my god. This is better than the new Farrelly Brothers movie that came out about the Three Stooges. Oh my god. This was so good. It was so funny. It’s so great. I was so appreciate of that.

 

I think that it’s wonderful for us in “X” to hear those kind of things. I know that, say for example, Misty and I are sitting there at a fan signing. We’ve got Alia Starr, and Lisa Daniels, and Cindy Starr is also there. A fan comes up and says, “Wow. I really love what you did. It was really great.” That’s a wonderful thing that we love to hear from our fans. We love to hear that. We appreciate our fans so much.

 

James talks about the dangers of Torrent sites and downloading porn illegally

Now there’s something out there, a lot of these internet providers now are tracking IP addresses for people when they go to torrent sites and they download movies. Whether it’s an adult movie or mainstream movie, you could be tracked. Then also, 9 times out of 10, when you go to those torrent sites, and you’re downloading a movie illegally. There’s always going to be a virus that will come into the back door and destroy your computer. This is a true fact. Actually, you’re doing yourself more harm by downloading these torrents. So don’t do that…This is what almost destroyed the music industry…What are they going to do now? They’re going to try to get rid of adult industry. They’re going to try to get rid of the mainstream industry. Are they going to come after Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt for having a love scene?

 

Our Modern Attitudes on Sex

Are they going to kick down the door of the studio and go, “Hey. I’m with the condom police. Mr. Pitt, you need to put a condom on and some gloves. Ms. Jolie, you have to put a dental dam on.” [laughs] “We’re not actually having sex.” “Well, we got to tell the public. This is what you have to do if you’re going to get into bed.”

 

If you look back over the years how much progress has been made, and how more open people are about sex. In the old days, if you watch an “I Love Lucy” show, Ricky and Lucy were in two separate beds. All those old TV shows, they were in two separate beds. Then you got into the 60s and the 70s, and you would see a married couple at least would be in the same bed, and they would kiss or something like that.

 

But back in the old days, you couldn’t even show that in a movie. You couldn’t show a married couple in bed and kissing good night to each other. We’ve come a long way, but there’s still a long way still to go. I know it sounds weird to try to compare what we do and “I Love Lucy” show.

If you don’t like porn, don’t watch it!

I know that’s strange, but the point I’m trying to make is the fact that we’ve made a lot of progress, but still there’s a lot of progress left to be made. There’s still a long way to go. There’s still going to be these fundamentalists, these fanatical Christian rights people that are saying, “Oh. It’s so bad. It’s so bad.” You know what? Then don’t watch it.

 

Nobody is forcing you to watch adult films. Nobody is forcing you. If you don’t like it, then just go on your way. Go watch a nice, quiet little show. There’s some nice, conservative, little TV program you can put out there and watch, or you can read a book, or do whatever.

 

You don’t have to concern yourself with what we do. There are a lot of people who love what we do, and they want to watch it. They want to buy it and they want to rent it. Why are you trying to stop us from doing our livelihood? We’re not trying to stop you from doing your livelihood. We don’t go down to your office and make a big commotion.

 

Let us do what we like to do. We love to perform on camera. We love to act on camera. We like to create these movies for you on camera. Please let us do this. This is our life. This is our livelihood. I have no idea what I would do if I wasn’t in show business and doing this stuff. I don’t know what a lot of these other people would do. I don’t know what people have for an exit plan. I really don’t.

 

We just have to fight really, really hard to keep going the way that we’ve been going, to keep the movie that we’re making. We know that there’s a lot of people out there. The only way that this would end, if we would stop making these movies, is people just stop buying them. But people keep buying them.

 

Modern Porn Films and the Rise of Porn Parodies

We make better quality movies than what was [being] made 20-30 years ago. If you look back on this, again, my friend Amber Lynn was saying these movies have come along so much. Ron Jeremy says the same thing. These movies have come along so much. Nina, [Hartley[ and I were recently, and she’s a great friend…She’s telling me that the quality of movies that are being made in “X” now has really changed so much for the better, the quality, and the production values, and everything that we make. That’s because you have somebody like Axel Braun, Will Ryder, Brad Armstrong, they really care about the movies that they’re making.

 

The Breaking Bad Parody

I just did a ‘Breaking Bad’ parody for David Lord. A brilliant director, and we were very close on these details of all of these tiny, little bits…A lot of people, I think, assume that when we make the porn movie. You rent a motel, and you set up a couple of lights, and you get a camera guy, and they go, “Action.” And the people say, “Oh. Blah blah blah. Little bit of dialogue, and then they go to the sex.” Well, it’s a lot different now.

 

There are integral plots, and story lines, and dialog, and details, and stuff like that. Because we understand that the audience appreciates, and is more sophisticated now, and we appreciate a better made product. And if we keep making these firms, and you let us keep making these, we’re going to keep making brilliant movies.

 

The Spiderman Versus Superman Parody

I think a brilliant movie everybody should check out is “Spiderman Versus Superman,” from Vivid from Axel Braun. Xander Corvus returns as Spiderman. Ryan Driller is Superman. Beautiful chicks in this movie. Like Lily Labeau, and Andy San Dimas. I’m playing Doc Ock.

 

Eric Masterson is playing Lex Luther, and we’re trying to take over the world. Spiderman and Superman have to stop us. I mean, all of the details that’s in this movie. I mean, it’s crazy. Some sexy girls.

 

Oh my god. Jenna Presley… there’s some really, really beautiful girls in this movie. Great details, incredible special effects. The trailer is out on YouTube right now. You see this. Axel came over to the radio station. We were hanging out afterwards, and he showed me the pilot, and I was like, ”Oh my god. This is incredible.”

 

If you take the sex out of this. You could have a big, hit mainstream movie. It’s really that great. It’s incredible. That stuff that we did with the “Three Stooges,” when it came out in release, it came out in color and in black and white.

 

The Three Stooges Parody

You could watch it like an old “Three Stoogies” vignettes that they used to make. Remember they were… those scenes were only… the little movies were maybe 10 or 15 minutes long, right?

 

They weren’t full movies. So it looks like that whole little thing. So it was me, and Evan, and Anthony – Evan Stone and Anthony Rosanao. We spent time, really getting that character down, and it comes across on camera. It looks really good. People are like, “Wow.I was watching that, and I thought I was watching the original Three Stooges.” They were really super impressed.

 

Misty Stone just finished doing a Spice Girl thing. She wanted to get the part down. She came over the night before and stayed up real late with me, and I went over getting her accent down and everything. She pulled that off. When we did ‘Men in Black’ that just came out for Brad Armstrong for Wicked. We spent a lot of time on all of the details. We had the original makeup guys that did the ‘Men in Black’ mainstream movie that came in and did all the monsters and all the special effects makeup.

 

Incredible stuff that we did in there. When we did the ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’, there was singing, there was dancing, as well as sex. I mean, that, I was like, “Whoa.” It even took a couple of weeks to get done. But what did we do? We ran away with nine awards, including my best non-sex performance award. Another one, right there.

 

That was an incredible movie to make. All of the details… I love how these directors and fellow performers are really spending the time to really turn out a quality product. Everybody loves to make a good movie now because you, the consumers, wants to see the best movie.
