Survey on European Porn Viewers Yields Surprising Results
Forno, a European SmartTV app company, recently commissioned a survey of porn viewers in the UK, Germany, and France and the results were surprising.
“We wanted to see past commonly held beliefs about who watches porn and get a true understanding of people’s viewing preferences,”’ marketing director Matthew Rahman of Forno told Broadband TV News.
Rahman noted, “Our research showed not only a much wider acceptance of porn than previously thought, but also that people are more likely to watch porn if it’s available in a secure environment, such as on their TV at home.”
Some of the points that the survey made known included where and how often porn was watched, if it was a social experience and the viewer’s thoughts on paying for pornography.
The survey had some surprises Rahman explains, “The peak age period for viewing porn appears to be older than many people assume.’
Rahman continues, “The peak age for viewers who declared viewing porn was of ‘extreme and high importance’ is 26 to 35 years old, while 18 to 25 year olds thought it was least important. That’s really interesting as it suggests a generational shift in the significance of pornography.”
The survey found that British viewers were the most tech savvy by utilizing tablets and smartphones. German viewers were the most sociable with 22% watching porn with friends and 40% watching it with their partners.
