Sledge Hammer, real name Marland A. Anderson, was a male porn star who died last April. New information has recently surfaced following an autopsy which shows that strangulation or hanging may have been involved.

Released last week, the report brings to light the possibility that LA police officers may have had a role to play in the porn star’s death. The report also hints at a possible strangulation; a fact which the police had previously neglected to reveal.

The report notes: “We find that forcible compression by a belt, accompanied by considerable force, could have caused the internal injuries of the neck organs. Such compression can be fatal.” It goes on to say that “these injuries could also have resulted from a struggle or from manual strangulation. Our review of the police documentation did not demonstrate any neck compression occurring during the police struggle with Mr. Anderson. However, such a possibility has not been ruled out.”

Controversy surrounds Sledge Hammer’s death as many people don’t understand how the porn star died so quickly. Stoney Curtis, who directed Anderson in several films said, “He might have [hung himself], but that doesn’t matter because he was more than alive and healthy and fine when he walked out the door.”

The director continues: “When they got him to the hospital he was dead, virtually. He walked out on his own and he was breathing just fine. And when he got there about an hour later, he was virtually dead. So it doesn’t take a genius to figure out he was choked out or strangled out or whatever. They cut off his air supply, whatever they did to him.”

The incident began when Sledge Hammer’s girlfriend Alex Cruz called for help on the morning of April 9 after he had consumed a bottle of brandy and six sleeping pills. Cruz also noted that the couple had been fighting. Apparently, when Anderson made the trip to the hospital via the ambulance he became belligerent to the point of police being called to the scene and a tussle ensuing.

The investigation into Anderson’s suspicious death continues.
